"By considering warfare as a form of obedience to Allah, Islam wishes to separate this sacred deed from any materialistic or worldly human ambitions such as taking revenge etc. Islam aims at concentrating people's attention to perfection, moralities and virtues in case of war," said Hujjat al-Islam Moballeghi.

Hawzah News Agency-In a meeting with some of the foreign figures present at the international conference on Islam and Humanitarian Law held in Qom on Sunday, December 11, Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Moballeghi, member of the Iranian Assembly of Experts, stated, "Sadly, some of the world's media networks mislead the public opinion into thinking that Muslims engage in killing people with the excuse of supporting Islam; this is absolutely false since such news are aimed at giving the religion of Islam a bad name,"

He further added, "The ISIS terrorist group is currently engaged in carrying out atrocities against innocent people in the name of Islam; their claim is based on a false interpretation of the Islamic concept 'doing deeds for the sake of Allah almighty'; ISIS attempts to turn the public opinion against genuine Islam and its valuable teachings,"

Head of the Islamic Research center at the Iranian Parliament went on to reject this misinterpretation against true Islamic principles saying, "As a matter of fact, the path towards Allah (swt) is the one intended to raise spiritual and intellectual relations of mankind with the origin of sciences, compassion, forgiveness and kindness."

"By considering warfare as a form of obedience to Allah, Islam wishes to separate this sacred deed from any materialistic or worldly human ambitions such as taking revenge or etc. Islam aims at concentrating people's attention to perfection, moralities and virtues in case of war," said Hujjat al-Islam Moballeghi.

The Shia cleric further reiterated that in the 8th verse of Surah al-Maidah in the Quran, Allah (swt) has said : ' Do not allow your hatred for other people to turn you away from justice' ; This verse elaborates on the concept 'for the sake of Allah' highlighted in Islamic teachings. It means that If a group of people are unfair to you, this does not allow you to be unjust to them,  rather you must be fair and just; according to this Quranic verse we can conclude that  ' for the sake of Allah' is the real origin of moralities and humanitarian law."
